Pip Millet Releases ‘When Everything is Better, I’ll Let You Know’.

Pip Millet has always had a powerful voice in British R&B, right from her first single “Make Me Cry” in 2013, however the release of her first full-length album, “When Everything is Better, I’ll Let You Know,” after a series of strong EPs demonstrates her creative vision and potential in a new light, as she is able showcase and develop her sound across an entire album and continue to refine her style.
Her use of samples is always entrancing, be it a slowed down or sped up song as a backing vocal or a voice note from her mum, she is always adding layers to her sound in a way which really characterizes her unique sound. The whole album is powerful, vulnerable and raw, as it explores herself and the society around her. Her energetic voice and gentle falsettos make every song distinct, and the album is full of jazzy and catchy hooks, soulful ballads, heartfelt anthems, and sweet rhythmic melodies. The album feels like an emotional reckoning and shows Millet embracing her independence and healing, taking the audience on that journey with her. Songs like “Downright” and “Only Love” show her style and “Slow” demonstrates how she is pushing those boundaries to make moving music which challenges her boundaries by navigating new energy. She is one to watch as this album is sure to launch her even further into
the public eye, so I’d say to get on early and enjoy the ride.
