Paige Gold is not your typical artist; she is the definition of a true crossover, multi-genre artist.
The 20-year-old singer, songwriter, and producer from Michigan grew up listening to Classical music and parents who sang Opera. Already immersed in a music family, she began pursuing her music career around the age of nine and began recording at thirteen.
Like many others, Paige too jumped on the TikTok bandwagon during the start of the pandemicand mentioned how it blew up overnight. However, she did not join willingly.
“I actually posted it on Snapchat and that’s how my best friend found it. She was like, ‘You need to post this on TikTok…it’s gonna do good!’ and I was like, ‘I am not doing that!’ and then eventually she just downloaded it and posted it and made an account. She was like, ‘Look! I told you, weirdo!”
Following the recognition her TikTok received and the traction her part talking and part singing videos received, she began connecting with several managers, A&Rs, and producers who were working with larger artists. Due to the busy schedules of these contacts, Paige learned how to produce songs herself, her most recent release, “Definition of a Love Song” being one of them.
“That’s actually the first song I fully produced by myself”, says the artist herself.
Not to mention the song had about a week turn around between writing it, producing it, and releasing it and was Spotify playlisted.
While the song draws on inspiration from love and her relationship with her boyfriend, Paige writes music based on the phases of life she is I and right now there’s plenty of love songs in the works.
“I have all of these demos just sitting and I am trying to find a way to get them all into an EP”, says Paige.
While Paige is in a stage of figuring out how to go about what’s next, she mentions that sitting down at the piano is typically where the magic happens. She is currently working closely with her manager to prep for new releases and an upcoming EP. In the meantime, listeners can expect more shows on the horizon.
