Eighty Ninety Release “Ruins”.

Written by Laury Verdoux

Brooklyn-based indie-pop duo, Eighty Ninety, is gearing up for the release of their self-titled debut album on December 15th. The duo is the project of Brooklyn-based brothers Abner (vocals, production) and Harper (guitar, production) James. As a prelude to their highly anticipated musical journey, they have dropped the final single, "Ruins", a poignant and introspective track.

The song is a reflection on the roads not taken and the lingering 'what ifs' that haunt our pasts. In the words of the duo, the track captures "the ache of missed opportunities and unspoken words", delving into the collective nostalgia of our youth and the emotional remnants we carry with us. The hauntingly beautiful vocals of Abner James, combined with textured indie-pop production, create a classic Eighty Ninety sound that resonates with raw emotion.

The self-titled debut LP, 'Eighty Ninety', promises to be a musical exploration of life's foundations, as the duo navigates the impact of past choices on our present selves. From the pulsating beats of "The Hard Way" to the dreamy vibes of "Face Like a Sunset", and the introspective lyricism of "Stay Alive" and "2 Carat", the album promises a diverse sonic landscape that mirrors the complexity of human experience.
