Bertie Newman Releases “Wasted on Me”.

Written by Laury Verdoux

As our readers may know by now, we’re huge fans of Bertie Newman so we had to cover his latest release “Wasted on Me”.

After the tender indie-pop track ‘I Will’ earlier this year, Bertie Newman is back with a new emotional and relatable single in which he shares his insecurities. The complex indie-folk song "Wasted On Me" features uplifting acoustic pop strings, enlivening choruses of backup vocals, and a marching rhythm that simulates the sensation of your heart almost literally racing out of your chest. This song brings to mind those intense emotional encounters with a new romantic partner when you worry that all of your flaws might come out and the feeling that the earth beneath you might suddenly disappear.

“This track is about the initial insecurities felt when I first started dating my current partner. It explores the relationship between self-confidence and self-doubt in the context of entering a new relationship, and wondering whether you are good enough for them and if they are just wasting their time with you”.
