Audrey Mika
The opening act on this tour was Audrey Mika, who brought her adorable spunkiness and girl boss energy to the room with her meaningful songs that are easy to sing. She sang and danced all over the stage and owned it. Her energy reminded me of Hayley Williams when she was younger: sassy, fun, and energetic. Her setup was surprisingly simple: just she and her drummer were on stage- no guitarists or piano players to accompany them.
Eric Nam
Eric Nam’s show was electric, and the Miami heat spiced it up. The set contained songs from his earlier EPs to his newest album There And Back Again. He opened with his airy track “Other Way” and the setlist’s genres went from dance-pop and anthemic songs to an acoustic set.
These tracks cross language barriers with songs in both English and Korean. This diversity showed how versatile and talented Eric is as a vocalist and proved that he can sing any genre and makes it a beautiful song.
The performance featured fan-favorite dancers Tristan and Pauler, who accompanied Eric and the band, bringing their smiles and moves to the show with fun choreography while they danced with Eric. A live band playing along enhanced the experience since there is truly nothing like live instrumentation. Revolution Live being a small venue
enhanced the feel of the instruments and made everything feel more intimate, making it feel like we were all hanging out with our friend Eric Nam and his band.
During the talking ments, he made jokes with the crowd, read signs, and responded to things they were screaming. During one part, he noticed a sign saying ‘Juanes!’, and he responded by singing a line from a famous song from the Latin artist before giggling and reminding everyone that this was his show.
During the encore, Eric, joined by his band and dancers, came out in matching black hoodies before singing “Wildfire” and closing the show with the anthemic (and my personal favorite) “I Don’t Know You Anymore” The whole experience was one to remember, and the warm, welcoming energy radiating from Eric and his fans makes me want to go back to another one of his shows.
