RebMoe
A new name to my ears, a self proclaimed ‘independent singer girl lost between party music og quirky sad songs’ RebMoe stepped on stage first. Stating that residents in her hometown are extremely humble, and that “when [her] friend Anna of the North asked [her] to join her on tour, [she] was beyond ecstatic.
She sang a mixture of released and unreleased tracks, such as “Undercover Lover”, “Coolest Guy on Campus”, and more. As a short but sweet introduction to her music, I do look forward to hearing more from RebMoe.
MARIS
Up next was MARIS, and her music was also captivating. Her and her one piece band, Jess, would have these quick moments of choreography. For example, they both had an air guitar competition between each other, and MARIS had her balloon guitar and played it amazingly. She sang songs like “Crashland” and “False Idol”, which both showcased her range of vocals and pop hits in the making.
A little birdy told me that MARIS has her debut EP planned for the near future, so keep an eye out for that.
Anna of the North
The Norway based singer and her three piece band took the stage a bit after a quick set change. There was a quick technical difficulty, but Anna and her band quickly had the idea to perform “Lovers” acapella. It was stunning.
This was my first experience with Anna’s music, and her show and music was a magnetic field to keep me in the venue for the whole show. She reminded me a lot of Sigrid (maybe just because they’re from the same city), but she stands on her own terms when it comes to music. Throughout her set, she played tunes from Dream Girl, Lovers, and her previous releases. The crowd loved her performance, and the love was felt throughout her whole set.
