LA-based electronic producer Tristan De Liège and emerging jazz quartet Jambal have joined forces to create their latest single, “Uncertainties”.
Tristan De Liège is no stranger to the music scene, having released nine studio albums and amassed nearly 3 million streams on Spotify alone. His experimental, emotive sound has garnered praise from tastemakers and fans alike.
On the other hand, Jambal is a rising jazz collective from Luxembourg, currently based in Amsterdam and Dresden. Comprised of Ben Bley (Trumpet, Flugelhorn), Arthur Clees (Vibes, Keys), Maxime Igisch (Bass, Double Bass), and Luca Garofalo (Drums), the quartet brings a sophisticated and fresh approach to their compositions, influenced by UK and ethno Jazz.
'Uncertainties' showcases a dynamic fusion of Tristan De Liège's trip hop beats and Jambal's jazzy grooves and warm basslines. The single plays out like a playfully messy jam, yet remarkably maintains a sense of cohesion amidst its instrumental twists and turns. The song seamlessly transitions between minimalistic instrumentation in the first half and an anthemic character in the second, reflecting the feeling of uncertainty in life's big decisions and new ventures.
According to the artists themselves, 'Uncertainties' was a product of collective improvisation. Initially, finding a direction that everyone agreed on was a challenge, but through their creative collaboration, the song organically evolved into its present form. Tristan De Liège and Jambal reveal that the track represents the excitement and trepidation that accompanies new projects and major life decisions—an emotional journey that many can relate to.
