Meet Koda Hills; the Next Big Rap Artist [Q&A].
Interviewed by: Sarah Evangelista
How has quarantine life been treating you lately? Have you been feeling more or less creative?
Quarantine has definitely been a hard process but also a benefit for me. I’ve been able to reflect on life a lot more and become more motivated and ambitious to work harder and concentrate more. I’ve definitely been a lot more creative because I’ve been planning my next step to proceed with my music career with my managers.
You work with a ton of different producers, what’s it like working with so many other people on your music?
It’s an amazing feeling to be honest. I’ve worked with lots of producers like YungTim, NellOnTheBeat, BasedChink, Trapxcan, and many more but YungTim is one of my main producers at the moment. It’s an incredible feeling knowing that I’m able to work with engineers, producers, and artists who are focused and very talented of course. My main engineers are Rob Nimbus, Rasneek, and a few more.
Your latest release is “4 The Stars”, what could we expect next?
“4 The Stars” was my first release back in January of 2019 produced by NellOnTheBeat, engineered and mastered by Rob Nimbus. The track hit over 100,000 streams on all streaming platforms under EMPIRE and until this day…. its views are rising. I’ve been releasing singles these past few months but I got a few projects in the making which are dropping this year, so stay tuned!
Before that release, you put out “Estar Contigo”, how did you get the idea of singing in Spanish?
My family originates from El Salvador so I am Latino myself, and it was only right to release a tack for my Latin culture, and I got more Spanish on the way. I want to make music for everyone. I am very versatile. I don’t only want to attract a certain crowd, but all crowds.
Who are your musical influences?
My music influences are Juice WRLD, Clever, Panic! At The Disco, and a few more.
