Based in Virginia, Pamané is an up and coming rapper. He’s been creating music for a while now, and has gained many new listeners over time. Keep an eye out for him, because he’s got many tricks up his sleeves, and he may become a big rap star one day. Check out my interview with the artist below.

You started creating music in high school, what are some things you learnt about making music since then?

I learnt so much. When I first started my career I didn’t know about mixing and mastering, so I would drop songs made from Audacity with raw vocals, and I would just record on a beat and upload it. I also never had money for anything so I had to learn everything myself, from learning about all the plugins in logic such as EQ, reverb, compression, and etc. I think it’s better for me anyway because I know I don’t have to rely on someone else and I can be self made.

Where do you get your music inspiration from?

I get my music inspiration from a variety of sources. Mostly it’s my friends, and knowing that I have a passion for music and that I’m hungry for success in the music world. I think once you know you have the drive and you’re willing to do what it takes, then no one can stop you.

You recently released What’s In Your Closet?, which is a collaborated album, what was it like working with someone else on a project?

It was really fun! Stressful at times but in the end I enjoyed working with MC. He’s like a little brother to me but we both learnt off each other. And I believe that with each song, we were constantly pushing each other to go as hard as we could.

What’s your favourite track off the album and why?

My favorite track off the album is without a doubt, “Alice’s Wonderland” which consists of two moods in the song, MC in the first half of the song talks about how this feeling he gets from this girl is so similar. In the second part I start to sing about a certain girl that broke me because she couldn’t express herself and locked her thoughts and emotions in a box and when I tried to get close so I could help heal her, but she pushes me away and in the end breaks our relationship instead. And how I’m healing from her while always knowing that I have love from her. It’s a beautiful concept really, two sides of love, the easy way and the hard way. Also the breakdown at the end of the song was very beautiful, everything about the song was beautiful and I loved just singing on that instrumental with background vocals and all that.

Our blog is all about up and coming artists and bands, do you have any favourite rising stars?

Yes! My boys Kwajo, MC, SH1NOB1 & Chief Vice , very talented people they are also family to me and we all help each other out musically and life wise too. Other rising stars Ive been listening and watching to are artists like, ZURI!, Jayy Davis, DiorDev, Tate, ilysmki, Tal Cohen, and Lil skir. A lot of people but they are all very talented and deserve more credit really.
