It’s 9 at night. You’re in the car. Driving home from a long day at work. You turn the radio on to hear Surf Mesa’s track “ily (i love you baby)”. A perfect late night drive song.
The 21 year old LA based artist recently released “Another Life”, featuring singer-songwriter’s FLETCHER and Josh Golden. We got the chance to chat with him, about the new track, and more.
“Another Life” is SO catchy. When did FLETCHER and Josh Golden come in to the creative process?
Thank you! Josh Golden and I made the song in a studio session we had together. When we decided we wanted to put another feature on the song FLETCHER came to mind and no one could have done it better. :)
When making the beat for “Another Life”, what inspired everything?
I always create music to feel good. My music will always stand for a positive energy and upbeat rhythm. This was another one of those ideas I had and the lyrics came together well when in the studio with Josh.
If a rollercoaster would be made inspired from your music, what would it look like?
Just going up. 100% linear roller coaster that aims for the sky and never comes back down.
Who are you favourite up and coming artists?
John Summit, American Dance Ghosts, Rafi, Fred again.., Hayley may. Lots of talent in these artists.
You’re playing a handful of festivals throughout the remainder of the year! Are you nervous, excited, or both?
So beyond excited! Performing is the best part of this career. Love it all around.
