Elyse Chapski Releases “running out”.

Elyse Chapski’s single ‘running out’ is an effervescent gift of pop goodness. Her vocal stylings, reminiscent of pop matriarch Ariana Grande, are distinct in their precision. Though the singer-songwriter is only 21, she is clearly beyond her years in both songwriting and performing.
Perhaps the most alluring feature of ‘running out’ is the soul that Elyse managed to capture in the tune. Fierce, pointed verses highlight the frustration that comes with playing relational games and waiting around for someone.
The song is empowering, relatable, and cheeky at the same time. Despite the somewhat sharp lyrics, ‘running out’ has a graceful luminosity. The winding movement in the strings seem to echo the aimlessness and uncertainty of the lyrical content, while also adding a satisfying texture to the R&B rhythms throughout the rest of the song.
Hailing from Chicago and currently attending Berklee College of Music, Elyse Chapski is a force to be reckoned with, especially with her upcoming EP. I am excited to see her emerge on the touring scene, where I am sure she will make a huge impact on audiences. Her entrancing voice floats on top of a heavy beat with ease, blending with layers of sweet harmonies and adlibs. What more could you ask for in a pop anthem?
