Dylan Emmet Releases “Nothing To Think About”.

The indie-pop scene just got even better with singer/songwriter and producer Dylan Emmet’s new single, “Nothing To Think About.” This New York based artist is keeping his momentum going in 2021 after releasing seven singles the previous year. With many of his recent songs making their way on Editorial Playlists, we do not expect this release to be any different.
Originally starting out in Los Angeles, Emmet shifted his writing headquarters to upstate New York after discovering he had a two-year-old daughter. This revelation not only prompted a reprioritizing of his life, but it inspired several of his writings that document his journey, which he describes, “to becoming an Insta-dad in New York overnight.”
In this single, Dylan Emmet’s lyrical writing proves that as an author writes to be read, a lyricist writes to be heard. The inspiration behind this heartful ballad only adds to the depth of this song.
He accredits his young daughter by saying, “I’ve always had trouble with anxiety and staying in the moment. My little girl is the one person who grounds me and gets me out of my head and to just be present. I started thinking about what it would feel like to have a relationship that felt that way too.”
He goes on to say, “I wrote the rest of this song as a love letter to the future love of my life. I cannot wait to play it for her one day. In the meantime, I’ll be anxiously awaiting to see if it all manifests into reality.”
Allowing his voice to dominate this song, Emmet opted for a minimalistic approach in his production. Showcasing his songwriting, “Nothing To Think About,” is a track that brushes closely to the rhythm-based lyricism of hip hop, but without losing the melodious indie-pop vocals and catchy tunes; a dynamic that Emmet continues to streamline with every release.
Something tells us that the music world has only started to brush the surface in discovering talented artist who have been grinding underground. Dylan Emmet is no exception, and we hope another release is not too far behind this one.
